Just from what I know on paper - I would say so. A couple big faculty that are somewhat pioneers in HF/transplant. I feel it has a very good reputation. Pretty high volume (40-50 transplants/year, etc). But then again I'm only a general fellow in another program so would defer to someone who has trained there.
All the faculty from my institution have nothing but good things to say about the program and highly recommended I apply. In particular, they cite good mentorship, and some former fellows have stayed on to be faculty while others have been able to get faculty positions elsewhere. Had the opportunity to meet Dr. Drakos when he gave grand rounds at my hospital. He's obviously proud of the students he has mentored, as he mentions them frequently. He was brilliant and an easy-going person to talk to. Decent volume of transplants and MCS, averaging around 40-50 yearly for each.
