I believe that they were doing daily IMRT QA to verify dose/mu output and billing for this. Hence the not medically necessary component of billing.

Physicist got $7 million. Not a bad haul. I heard they were doing basically a diode and then another type dose check (might be exactly what you're saying, RM). It was described like if you checked the tire pressure two times with two devices that are basically the same and charged twice for it. Is it any wonder this came from Florida? The last whistleblower lawsuit was from Florida, as well, where that rad onc got a cool mill. Don't get me wrong - I love Disney World, having cocktails at The Delano, and wet t-shirt contests in Panama City as much as the next guy/gal, but Florida is no place to be getting cost effective health care.
