Is anyone still debating on either Louisville or UK?
Yes as an OOS. Honestly don’t think we can go wrong with either, definitely lots of pros for both schools. Plus cost of living seems similar. Only major difference in price, I saw as OOS, is UK tuition is a couple thousand dollars more. I didn’t get a chance to see the Louisville buildings, but UK definitely looks cool.

If i was waitlisted November 29th, OOS, LM of 70 do i have a good chance of getting in? The waiting game is starting to eat at me and I have been rejected from all other schools. Praying for anyone else struggling with this cycle 🙏

Withdrew my A today. This one was hard, as it had the best financial aid/scholarship of any of my schools. I was very tempted lol!

I hope it goes to one of you awesome folks. Good luck!!

Just withdrew my OOS A with a 4 year merit scholarship. It was so so painful to send the email, but I know the A and scholarship are going to go to someone so deserving!! Best of luck to you all :)

I’m currently instate and on the waitlist. Was told there’s usually 150 ppl on waitlist but kind of confused on how it works. Are there separate waitlists for IS and OOS, each with 75 people? Since its ranked do they just pull from the top or do they try to replace applicants with similar applicants?

Can I expect a rejection letter anytime now or do they wait to reject waitlisters until the first day of class?

I'm in the same boat as you and I think, from what I have gathered, they might have 2 lists: one OOS and one IS. based on who decides to leave and where they are from, the same type (IS or OOS) of student will get in. So like if 3 OOS withdrew, theres 3 spots for waitlist OOS. I haven't seen any posts about IS withdrawing in favor of other schools, which is scaring me, but there are more seats for IS. Wishing the both of us lots of luck and A's! *fingers crossed*

I actually reread my waitlist email after posting, which answered a few of my questions 🤦‍♀️, IS and OOS are separate lists and they accept who’s next on the list through mid-July. I guess we can’t expect rejections until after that, which sucks given the application cycle timeline. Not sure if there’s 75 on IS and 75 on OOS waitlists, it’d be nice to have a better idea of what our chances are. Thank you for the good wishes, hoping we both get the call this week!

Do you think it’d annoy them if I asked what third of the waitlist I’m in if I don’t hear anything by the end of next week? They’ve stated they don’t disclose ranks, but technically they didn’t say we couldn’t ask about what tier we are. They used to tell people I believe.

I think you can ask them to indicate whether you are towards the front or not. You can also gauge by asking whether they gave an offer to people at your rank in the past or even just last year. Might give a better picture

If you do it and they do tell you something, can you let us know? You don’t have to say where you fell but just if they respond about it…

Yes I will! still debating whether to do it but I’ll keep you all updated.

I feel like they haven’t done anything since Thursday. I’ve been asking around and I think Derby caused a lull. Same thing happened last year.
This makes so much sense I didn't even think of that.

I sent the email yesterday after 5, still no response as of now. They’re usually quick to reply so maybe they did hit a derby lull. I’ll let you all know what they say.
I sent an email on a separate issue this morning and got a response an hour later, so it is strange you haven't heard back yet.

The derby lull is actually so funny, cant believe i didnt think about that

What did you ask them? Anything about your rank on the waitlist?
I asked about sending an LOI, which it doesn’t seem like they’re taking at this point which is fair. They added that the waitlist is complete and ranked but I didn’t ask about where I’m ranked.

I guess I got my answer about whether it’d annoy them 😅 yeah, still haven’t gotten a reply.

I think like putting this whole situation in their perspective, they have around 90 students for sure admitted, maybe 20-30 or so that are wishy-washy, and the rest from the waitlist to fill 162 seats (I'm taking these estimates from the groupme numbers someone provided and the class stats). So you figure, there are many people with the PTE option selected for U of L who haven't made a definitive decision about schools yet who are taking their time to decide. While we are all ranked, the school has to be careful about how many acceptances they send and how much info they offer those of us on the waitlist because they can't assume those who PTE will actually CTE, but they also can't give up the spots until they have numbers for CTE. And acceptances are offered with the waitlisted students able to wait up to 2 weeks before responding. That means all of the spots we saw go to OOS last week are not set in stone until next week. Soooo tbh I am guessing this process is as hectic and stressful for them as it is for us. They are constantly moving people onto and off of lists and they have to keep track of IS vs OOS, etc. I bet when they get emails like the one you sent, it's not annoying so much as they don't have time to answer it. My only hope is that the people on here (myself included) get in, because it seems like we all really want this and specifically, we really want to go to U of L SOM. Let's see how it plays out. I have hope for us, but we have to be patient. Do whatever you can to take your mind off of it but in the end it is what it is.

Edit: I'd also wager that they find out about OOS CTE before IS, because if someone OOS got into a state school where they were from or a school that better fits their needs, they are more likely to withdraw their acceptance. I'm sure more IS will open as the time goes on.

From what I have heard they have a week to decide after an offer from the waitlist so we should get some movement potentially tomorrow. Don't quote me on that tho

They answered me!

I can say that you are in the ___ third of our waitlist. The movement is going slow but we are still processing withdrawals as they come in.

Edit: obviously if I were you all I’d also want to ask but maybe try to stagger and not everyone ask today 😅
