It looks like following Programs have completed their Review process and closed this season w.r.t review.

1) University of Chicago
2) University of Colorado
3) Emory
4) St. Louis University SOM

Still, have not heard anyone mention following top tier programs

TCH-Baylor
John Hopkins
UVA
 
received Hopkins rejection yesterday. I did not apply to Baylor but a friend of mine has interviews at both Baylor and UVA.

I did not get any rejections yet from any of these places. I was looking for UVA/Baylor/JH. It's kind of late in the game now, so I must be not in their first list.;) Need to settle with 6 interviews out of 16 applied. 2 Rejections and 8 still to hear from.

Absolutely. I will give you my experience this year, 1 of the programs that I was eagerly looking forward to rejected me and I reached out to them to look at my application and interestingly they offered me interview later. It's worth a try :)

Yes heard from them in July, interviewing there tomorrow. I don't think they have stopped offering for the cycle and I think there may have been some cancellations.
 
Rejection from Ann Arbor. Disappointed... 7 interviews, 3 rejections and 6 to hear from....effectively settle with 7... I think that should cut it.

I am not sure if this is a good thread to ask this question, but anyone know how competitive it is for this year’s cycle? You can also redirect me if there’s a better thread. I haven’t been on SDN for a while.

Background: did not apply this cycle but may in a year or 2.

The bigger programs have been really competitive but smaller programs are not so much is what I understand.
 
It goes in cycles. But nicu overall is not very competitive. It’s not like some of the adult specialties. Everyone will generally match unless there is something seriously wrong with the application or the person has a strict geographical preference (or they apply with the sentiment of Boston, Cincy, CHOP or bust).
 
When is a good time to send an email to the program directors that you will be ranking them highly?
