I think many of community/university affiliated programs have not extended invitations to interview yet. If someone else has a different opinion, please advise.
Yes but they do have internal candidates applying who have a chance within the program. Let's keep fingers crossed next few weeks with a good hope

Has anyone heard from: Methodist, MD Anderson, UPMC, Columbia, Minnesota, Ann Arbor, Hopkins, Chicago, UConn, UCSF, Stanford, UCSD, Emory.
I think still a few programs haven't event send the first wave of invitations.

I am an IMG and know other IMG, none of us have received any IVs from California.

US-IMG, but I did not apply to any California programs, PTAL just seemed like more paper work on my end.

My understanding was you don't need it to apply? I called the California board specifically and they had told me that you need it for sure if you haven't trained in US at all but if you have residency then you don't need. You need to either have a license or apply asap if you plan to go to the program.

Good to know, Cali is a bit far west for my liking anyways, but thanks for the info.

May be they did and we don't know about it?
Looks like on last year's thread, interviews were still coming out through the end of August. And people will certainly be cancelling some of their interviews later in the season and programs will want to fill those spots!

At this point, I really give up. I have only one interview. I am looking for back up plan. I heard we can apply BMT fellowship without finishing Hematology/Oncology fellowship. But I don't see any BMT programs accepting the candidate without fellowship. Is there anyone that can enlighten me. Is there any one-year fellowship I can do to increase my chance in next year application? Thank you. If the questions look silly, please forgive me.

what about a palliative care fellowship (not very competitive and significant overlap with heme/onc), during which of course you continue heme/onc research and strengthen any application weaknesses that can be strengthened. though i do still think there is more time in this years application cycle when looking at previous years !

do palliative in very big place like Mayo clinic. Ppl have done it in the past and matched hem onc a year later
Disagree. We have a palliative attending who did her fellowship at Dana Farber. She is the worst.

Don't they need a fellowship in hematology or medical oncology as well? Along with residency?

Most BMT fellowship programs requir prior experience/training. Leukemia fellowship program at MD Anderson does not requir fellowship training.
