No, Krystal let us all know the same day.

Not the only one.
same here. I've been waitlisted at two schools since December. Anyone know the likelihood of getting off of a WL? or should I get ready for a reapplication process?
I think it's hard to say until April/May when people have to start making decisions and then spots will open up. It's frustrating that this process takes so long.

How did you find out you were wait listed at UIC, if you don't mind me asking? By email? I'm still waiting to hear back.Waitlisted at UIC and AE, rejected at UMDNJ .... only applied to a handfull of MD-PhD programs because I didn't know what to expect with my stats and didn't want it to prevent me from attending medical school in the fall since MD PhD applicants usually get viewed much later in the cycle for MD-only acceptances at most schools. Anyway... just waiting now... tick tock tick tock.. chances are quite low for me to get into any of those two programs
So did all of the duke offers go out?
Ah, okay that makes sense. I guess I'm technically on the waitlist as well- I interviewed in December. Hopefully we'll hear something in March. I haven't called to see where I am ranked on the list. But if I don't hear after the March interview I'll probably check. I didn't receive an email about MD only, but I've been accepted to another MD/PhD program so I'd only consider UIC if I get in for the MSTP. Good luck!Hi Mishaob, technically if they haven't called you, you are waitlisted. Unless, you recently interviewed and your file hasn't been ranked yet. I haven't officially received a waitlist email, but during the interview they told us that they would rank us and then call us in order of rank for acceptances. I spoke to the Assistant Director not too long ago and was told that they slowly call people according to this list. I consider it a waitlist in that I haven't been accepted and a decision has been made (pertaining to class rank). She said after each committee meeting they add the newly interviewed candidates and re-rank and call people in order. Luckily she also said that most people are accepted in March after the final ranking is made (all interviews complete). So officially I don't have a waitlist designation, but that is what I am calling it, I interviewed all the way back in November. Good luck to the both of us! I really liked Chicago :-D
I also received an email for MD consideration and was told that the MSTP inteview would suffice and I would not need to come interview for the MD program. Did you also receive this? If so, what is the status on that. I am not sure if I was given the right info, but I was told that if we get an MSTP rejection we would be considered for the MD program. I guess we would know by May 15th for the MD-only? Not sure how this works. Any input would be valuable I would only attend the MD-program if it came with an incredible scholarship because OOS tuition is through the roof at this school ($70,000+ tuition/yr).
Hey Scaeland, did Penn State call you or do they send e-mails?
They won't tell you your rank, just to be patient :-/Ah, okay that makes sense. I guess I'm technically on the waitlist as well- I interviewed in December. Hopefully we'll hear something in March. Don't be too jealous! Penn State requires a $300 deposit that is only refunded if you withdraw before the end of March .....
What a great idea!! Add modern administrative extorsion to the list ... If your dream program offers you on April 15...
On a serious note, we should have a MD/PhD match in early April. It is the best for applicants and programs.
Does anyone know how long Hopkins usually takes to get back to you after your interview? Getting anxious over heree.
So, those of you lucky enough to be holding many acceptances (>2), have you withdrawn from programs you would not attend over other acceptances you are holding? Or will you wait until the deadline? Trying to get an idea of how/when waitlist movement might start happening.
Dr. Kontos said that the admissions committee had met recently and reviewed the candidates. Since I was at one of the latest interview sessions, I suspect they may have made most of their offers by now.
Emailed me in the early AM on they day they said they would. First received an email from the regular MD admissions so I wasn't sure if I had gotten the MD/PhD nod but I called them and they confirmed it.Hey Scaeland, did Penn State call you or do they send e-mails?
I have withdrawn from all programs save for the one I've decided on. Making the decision was difficult but knowing that every day I delayed held a spot I wouldn't fill from some other deserving applicant was nice motivation to make a faster decision. To those holding 2 or more acceptances, the facts won't change so do your research and withdraw as early as possible - you're holding the door shut on someone. I don't mean to be rude like that but this was my 3rd go-round in the admissions process and all I can focus on are the poor deserving bastards who, like myself in the past, are put through the wringers. That being said, if you don't get admitted DO NOT under any circumstances give up. The last 2 years for me have been unexpectedly valuable in strengthening my convictions for the career path (shifted my focus from straight MD to MD/PhD) and have given me 6 peer-reviewed publications to my name in one focused area of study - certainly helpful for establishing a research niche and potentially helpful for getting grant funding while in school. So, those of you lucky enough to be holding many acceptances (>2), have you withdrawn from programs you would not attend over other acceptances you are holding?
