That is pretty brutal. Did you receive a secondary from them?

Yes I received their first secondary. I guess they have a system where they give you a secondary, and if they're still interested in you after that, they will send you a second one before they offer you an interview.

I think you got their preliminary app. After you AMCAS-apply, they auto-send a prelim (I think), then they review for competitiveness, then secondary, then interview invite.

Any way that people can include whether they filled out a secondary as well? curious as to whether they have you fill out the secondary and then decide or if you don't have to go through the extra step. Thanks! ad best of luck to you all!

Almost no program makes rejections pre-secondary unless an app's numbers are absolutely abysmal. I know for sure that UCSF is an exception, and I think that Vandy might be as well. Also, Minnesota doesn't have a secondary at all.

How do you guys know you were rejected? Did you receive emails from the schools or are you just assuming you are because you haven't been given an interview invite yet?

my first post in this thread... UCSF said that my application passed from the MD committee to the MSTP committee but i'm not offered an interview after being screened by MSTP. still in the running for MD though

I was complete 7/23, I haven't gotten my real letter yet. I got notified by a personal email after I called to ask about my app's status. the office was really helpful+informative+friendly and responded to me within a day.

Did you get a completion e-mail from Johns Hopkins after you completed the secondary, and if so, how long was it after you submitted your secondary before you received the completion e-mail?

The complete email just said that they received my app and the MD/PhD decision for interview will be contacted through the phone, if not selected for interview, they will send a letter... i got a letter. I was complete several weeks after the sec.
 
This thread makes me feel a bit better about the interview invite one
