My school gave me a 1098-T form stating that I had 85K worth of scholarships/grants thanks to HPSP... what I'm confused about is TurboTax is saying this is part of my income and that I'll owe upwards of $16k this year... does anyone with more HPSP experience know what the deal is here?

Throw that 1098-T away, it doesn’t apply to this unique situation. You’d essentially be paying taxes twice.
