It's a sulfa drug, whose MOA is really unknown. But, it supposedly acts by blocking Na and Ca channels (in vitro studies). It also facilitates dopaminergic and 5HT transmission, and a weak CA inhibitor (like topiramate).

Dose adjust for RF, long t 1/2--like phenobarb
SE: nephrolithiasis (like topiramate), SJ rash, agranulocytosis, psychiatric symptoms (psychosis, depression), in pedes: hyperthermia.

I think that should cover all the big stuff.

I got it right. Was a question regarding usage for epilepsy -- no other choice was antiseizure. no biggie
