Your opinion on a HY Cell and Molec?

I was hoping to get some opinions about HY Cell and Molecular Biology. I've read a few places that the 1999 edition is great for Step 1, and that a later version had way too much detail. In FA, they mention that the 2006 edition is more 'brief.' Has anyone used the 1999 version? I'm just curious if it's become too dated to be relevant, or if it's still ok for board purposes. I used the '99 edition for Step 1 2 years ago. Still good, since the basics of cell-cell signaling, DNA replication etc do not change.

I used it a few months back (the 99 version). I did the whole book in 1/2 a day so it is a quick read and a pretty good review IMHO
