The median cGPA for those accepted to allopathic med schools is 3.65. For osteopathic med schools it's 3.45. For a comprehensive list of each med schools characteristic applicant stats, look through the MSAR (Medical School Admission Requirements) book, which you can find in your pre-health advising office or buy online through AMCAS or Amazon.com.
When one applies to med schools, one generally applies to multiple schools in one's stat range, a few dream schools, and a few safety schools. Some apply to one, some to five, and some to 30 schools at the same time.
If one has a lower than average GPA, one can compensate for it with a higher than average MCAT score and to some extent, excellent extracurricular experiences.
You can see the stats of some members, where they applied, and where they were accepted by clicking on the MDapps link under their avatar (see canjosh's profile above).
