Hope everyone is enjoying interview season so far :)

Anyone have any thoughts on picking a relatively new, "young" med/peds program vs. an established med/peds program? Please feel free to contribute to the lists:

New program pros
- ability to help shape the program
- possibly more flexible schedule of rotations

New program cons
- weak combined continuity clinic experience
- possibility of program becoming "deactivated"
- fewer med/peds faculty
- fewer med/peds specific teaching experiences (conferences etc)

Established program pros
- less uncertainty regarding expectations (you know what you're getting)
- stability
- upper level residents available for advice

Established program cons
- set/rigid schedule of rotations
- expectations based on past experiences ("cookie cutter," possibly less open-minded faculty)

Looking forwarding to hearing your input!
