To obey an unjust law is to approve of it.


Write a unified essay in which you perform the following tasks. Explain what you think the above statement means. Describe a specific situation in which obeying an unjust law might not necessarily mean approving of it. Discuss what you think determines when disobeying a law is justified.



Does anyone have good examples for part 1 and part 2 of this question??

Does anyone have good examples for part 1 and part 2 of this question??

The Patriot Act would be a good example for part 1. You could use the recent example recent Supreme Court ruling to uphold that Church's 1st amendment right to show up at the funerals of soldiers with the anti-homosexual rhetoric. Upholding the 1st amendment rights of a few idiots protects all US citizens constitutional rights.

I suggest watching the new or reading a newspaper to have a decent bank of examples to pull from.
