Writing Section Question

This may be a dumb question, but for the writing section, are we allowed to use personal experiences to support our arguments? I practiced the writing section like once in the beginning of my prep, and am not too worried about it. I know historical examples would be better than personal ones, but personal examples/experiences are still allowed, right? Or is that a no no? Thanks.

making up a hypothetical might sound more "professional" but you can use a personal experience.
