I am very very bad at creating school lists and accurately gauging my own app.

App so far:

-applying in May

cGPA: 3.84

sGPA: 3.8

MCAT: 520

T10 undergrad

Washington resident

Majors: Computer Science with machine learning concentration and Neuroscience

Research: About 5000 hours? 6 publications (3 first author)

-3000 hours during undergrad in a brain computer interface lab for neuro degeneration.

-2000 hours working full time as a research associate in computational neuroscience after undergrad

Clinical and Shadowing: About 1000 hours as a CNA, 200 as a medical scribe, and 50 hours shadowing.

Nonclinical: About 400 hours volunteering with and later running a dementia care organization at a local residential home.

Red Flags/Cons: 1 W in a non-prerequisite class, ORM, and mediocre GPA

I am applying about 1/2 MD and 1/2 MD-PhD, but am struggling to choose MD schools. Can any of you with similar interests recommend a couple schools? I don’t want to be the delusional person with a t20/top heavy school list, and I want to apply to schools I am realistically competitive for. I really don’t care where I go, I just want to get into 1, but I would love a school in a cold climate with strong neuro engineering or comp neuro research.

I’m not including my current school list because if any of you recommend 1 that is already on it, it serves as confirmation.

I appreciate the list. I can’t apply to Yale because I have AP credit and Harvard app feels a bit like a donation, but the rest seem solid. I didn’t think of Rochester or Illinois.
