Worth of Away IM @ Duke?

Hey everyone! Thinking of applying to duke IM program, and was thinking of applying for an away there next year to get my name in the door. Is it worth it with a step 1 of 242 and being from a low-mid tier MD school? That is, is getting my name in the door going to make a difference without a superstar application?

Do you want to do an away rotation at Duke anyway? If it's something that you'd like to do, you should do it, and not worry about whether it's going to change your app profile. Doing a rotation at a top program and getting a good LOR might help your application at other programs. So, it really depends upon how much this costs, how inconvenient it would be for you, and how much you want to do it.
