Worried: Applied late to TY and Prelim Med, not getting interviews

Hey I applied late to TY and Prelim Med programs and am now very worried. I think I will match in ophth, but am now worried I won't have a prelim spot.

I applied to TY in late Nov and Prelim Med in Mid-late Dec. I'm getting very little response, should I call programs? What should I do?

Are there always spots available somewhere?

To be frank, that's pretty late. I applied to prelim programs at the bottom of October, and even then I've received few replies comparatively.

Try those programs where you don't have to interview. UCLA/Harbor doesn't ask folks to interview. They just rank based on ERAS. Maybe it's not too late to jump on the list for those types of programs, as you and they don't have to mutually deal with visiting.

UCLA/Harbor--that's all I know. You'll have to do your own research on that--sorry.
