Hi everyone!
I'm an Italian Dentist Specialist in Orthodontics, fully registered with the GDC.
Looking for a position in Manchester but not only there, I noted that there are much more job offers for general dentists than for orthodontists.
I guessed it was easier with a specialisation. No need for Orthodontic treatment in England or what else?

I have to say I’m a very demoralized for this situation I didn't know, after a long path to got registration with GDC (as a dentist and then on the specialist list).
I can see only two solutions, but do'nt know if are good: accept job as a dentist in Manchester and then wait for a position as an orthodontist (because I want to do orthodontics!), If I want to stay
in Manchester Or accept position as an Orthodontist everywhere in England, and then I don’t know how much is esy and useful to change practice (interruption of treatment, etc.)

Could anyone give me an opinion or advice about this, please?
Thanks

hey max11,

in the first, i dont know anything about the situation in manchester city, then i think as you said it take with you long time to be an orthodontist, so you must work as an orthodontist, i dont know why you want work only in manchester, there is many opportunities for you max, you must search more and more and you will find what you need if not in manchester it will be in any country in the world. its really strange no orthodontics positins in your country, here in my area need orthodontists all the time.

GOD help you max

Hi Jeivara!

I would like to work in Manchester because I like the city, but probably I have to accept to move to another one in England because, after all, I like Orthodontics!

I guessed it was easier, above all with the Specialist title, but evidently it's not like this.

In Italy it's hard to find a job without have a person of the same field in the family, or know someone, or simply have a recomendation.
We are a bad country under this aspect, usually good people can't reach the position they deserve.

Thank you for your support
