working as a solo private-practice surgeon

i'd like to hear the pros and cons of working as a General Surgeon in a solo private practice in a medium sized city. of course call would be a big issue as you're the only surgeon and there are no partners to share call with. but what about other things, things that may not be so obvious until you actually start working as a solo-practicioner?
