Work for spouse/SO in St Maarten/Martin

Hey

So my significant other has decided that he will move down to St maarten with me while I attend AUC. I am thrilled... but sooooo worried about financing now. I know I am covered with my disgustingly large loans, but he does no have that much saved up and will have to work on the island to support himself. But how will he find work? How does that process work? I have been hearning different things like he wont find any jobs/ he will. Or he has to get a company to sponsor him/he can apply for a work permit... Can anyone help me who has first hand experience with this please? I know this is his problem but the uncertainty is driving me crazy, and we have to figure this out soon!
