Hi, I was wondering what kind of experience they look for on your application when applying to opt schools. I have experience working in an ophthalmology setting for a year as a tech and I just started working at an optometrist's office a month ago. So, I don't have too much optometry experience. Do any of you know what they look for??? Do they expect us to have experience besides shadowing an optometrist?

If you have already started working in an OD's office, this would be considered work experience!!

I don't think that they expect applicants to have more than shadowing experience, but definitely work experience would make the applicant stronger.
