I have two interviews that had in person and virtual, you could pick which one. In person interviewees will have a much bigger advantage vs virtual applicants, of course.
I rejected both of them.
If they cannot follow recommendations in a pandemic, and create an unfair advantage pitting virtual vs in person applicants, who knows what other rules they skirt during the years of residency? I would not be surprised if they go beyond the 80hr limit and create other problems. After looking at the resident lists, I saw they had all IMGs. Between that and the option of in person interviews, too many huge red flags.
Any program offering in person interviews should raise some warning signs.
