I was wondering if any of you can help me compile a list of medical school to apply to. Because of my MCAT, I'm almost certain that I would be applying to DO schools. So, here are my stats:
NJ resident
Asian
Biology major with a Chemistry minor from a small university in PA
3.61 sGPA & 3.64 cGPA
501 MCAT (126, 126, 125, 124)
An academic year of research experience in college
100+ hours of clinical research
Student-athlete (captain my senior year)
Letter from a DO I shadowed my Junior year
I realize I don't have a lot of ECs and volunteering but I'm currently in my first (out of 2) gap year to try strengthen my application. I'm hoping to get a medical scribe job to gain more clinical exposure but any other recommendations to strengthen my app are welcome. I'm also considering re-taking the MCAT in April, which could change some things.
If anyone has any advice for my situation (what to do with my gap years, how well I should do on my next MCAT, what to do to strengthen my app, etc.), it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
