Hey all,

I know it’s a little too early to start job hunting as a community resident, but I’m curious as to when would be a good time to start? For those of you wondering, nothing against my current site, location is a long way from home for me.

Looking in the Chicago market, which I already know is a tough market.

Midyear. Anything posted before then is likely looking for someone now. Do PPS at Midyear if you can - the expectation of every interview there is that you can’t start until July-August.

But after Midyear it’s pretty much free game. Just make sure you mention in your letter of intent that it’s something you want after you after you complete your residency.

Co-residents last year skipped PPS but they probably should have done it.

That being said they started actively searching February; all got jobs starting in July.
