What's this 1099-MISC from DFAS for?

This is my first year doing my tax return with the HPSP scholarship. I'm doing it online and thought that I had everything figured out, but I just got a 1099-MISC in the mail from DFAS. I guess that I have to claim it, but I have no idea what it's for. The only thing I could think of would be book reimbursement, but I submitted two of these--one for $794 and another for $355.

The 1099-MISC is only for $710, but still, it knocks down my refund by $100. Can anyone explain?

Received a similar statement, except mine was for much more. It was exactly equivalent to the amount reimbursed through CDW for books and exam fees. I am a bit confused on why I should have to report this as income if it was reimbursement. Any help would be much appreciated.

I had the same issue ... Were you able to get this corrected ? Emailed them over 3 weeks ago and no response.
