I'm just starting D3, class of 2019. I have the 4 year HPSP Navy scholarship. I know I have to complete ODS after I graduate (my school doesn't have breaks longer than 1 week; only Christmas break is 2 weeks). Could anyone please tell me a relative sequence of things that I'm expected to do once I graduate until I actually practice dentistry (I heard it's order-related, can anyone explain?)?

I plan on applying for the military 1 year AEGD. How does that work with the ODS? Do I apply spring of D3 like civilian AEGDs/GPRs?

Also, how do orders/credentialing/tours work? Would preferences be considered? I'm not picky where I go but I'd prefer to go to places where I can interact with more endodontic specialists and residents or see more endo cases or at least make my name known (I plan on eventually specializing)

I used the search function but maybe I'm a bit slow so I can't find a thread that clarified all this for me. Any help is much appreciated! Also, where do I find the handbook that everyone is talking about?

Watch your emails and the Weekly Dental Updates, they will tell you everything you need to know. As for pursuing endo, you should target bigger clinics or the Naval Medical Centers, but if you're doing an AEGD you will have at least one endodontist affiliated with your program.
