I personally don't think it makes a difference. I have seen below average students getting ready to graduate from schools with stellar reputations and vice versa. I've found myself putting less emphasis on school reputation and more emphasis on the student him/herself as a result.

personally it matters to me...i look for things that the student has done above and beyond the required work....even though some students from older schools might not be stellar ....it seems that their curriculum is much more demanding
