Are you qualified for FAP? Deadline is Friday i think.
I believe I still have my FAP benefits from this year. I took the MCAT in September and applied+received them a few months before that, should be good until the end of 2023 IIRC.

Thank you so much! Just out of curiosity if you don't mind me asking, what should I consider a "safety" (or at least, best odds) school? I seem to fall at the tails of the distribution for MCAT and GPA even for the best matches.

Indiana is where your best chance is. Work on increasing your GPA in your final semester. Western Michigan is a school that likes high MCAT scores and has a relatively low number of applicants.

Just off the top of my head:
  • You had to work a lot during undergrad to support yourself - close to full time. That’s a big load, and if you are lucky adcoms may cut you a bit of slack there for your GPA.
  • You have an upward trend, earning 3.8s your last 3 semesters. That and a solid MCAT kills any doubts about your academic ability stone dead.
  • Your ECs are strong; not many applicants have a year of full time clinical work. While your nonclinical volunteering is weak, it checks the box.
You’re probably on the low-ish end of pack fodder for top 20 schools, but otherwise a solid applicant. You qualify for FAP, and that adds diversity to a medical school. Good luck! If it’ll set you at ease, see what @Goro or @LizzyM have to say.

@decongestant, I have modified Faha's list to those schools that reward reinvention, and added a few more.
