Hello everyone! I am applying for the first time and I kind of lost with regard to creating a school list and whether or not the current schools on my list are a good fit for me. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Here's my info:

  1. GPA: 3.99 cGPA and 4.0 sGPA
  2. MCAT: 518 (128/128/131/131)
  3. State of residence: FL, ties to MI
  4. Ethnicity and/or race: ORM
  5. Undergraduate institution or category: public in-state
  6. Clinical experience (volunteer and non-volunteer):
    -
1 year volunteering as a scribe/medical assistant/Spanish language translator at a clinic for underserved populations (100 hours)
    - 1.5 years volunteering at a hospice (150 hours)
- 8 months volunteering at a cancer center helping nurses administer treatments (100 hours)
  1. Research experience and productivity:
-3 years; directed my own research project in the field of neuroscience, publication expected to be submitted for review this summer. (800 hours)
  2. Shadowing experience and specialties represented:
    - 45 hours of shadowing, psychiatry.
  3. Non-clinical volunteering:
    - Red Cross, helped work blood drives plus part of volunteer satisfaction team (250 hours)
    - Organized a campus-wide blood drive + bone marrow registry drive (50 hours)
  4. Other extracurricular activities:
    - Campus tour guide
    - Vice-president of campus' HOSA chapter
    - Recreational dance group
    - Cultural society
    - Intramural champion
  5. Relevant honors or awards:
    - Received around $3000 from a competitive research grant.
  6. Letters of Rec
    -
4 letters. Expecting extremely strong ones from bio professor and PI, average ones from other professor and research coordinator.
Generally looking to stay in Florida to take advantage of lower in-state tuition rates. Hoping to apply to some T-20 schools but don't know if my extracurriculars are up to that level. Tentative school list as for now:

Cornell
Brown
Dartmouth
Case Western
WUSTL
Vanderbilt
U Chicago
Miami (FL)
Emory
Michigan
Cincinnati
U Florida
Pittsburgh
UNC
Ohio State
Wayne State

Thanks again!

Remove UNC as they take few students who aren't residents of the state.

Rochester
Einstein
