Clinical experience (volunteer and non-volunteer) Clinical, volunteer (most recent): COVID educator at homeless shelter 168 hours, volunteer as professional evaluator for HIV Education Group 1,152 hours, Scientific advisor for State's pediatric obesity education initiative (2 years). Clinical non-volunteer (most significant): Director of Research at HIV/AIDS Clinician Center at UC at San Francisco (4,160 hours), Project Manager Building Statewide Electronic Medical Record Sharing System (2,080 hours), Visiting Scientist to Research Council in Sub-Saharan Africa to help create first large-scale antiretroviral system (640 hours)
  7. Research experience and productivity: predoctoral fellow at National Institutes of Health (6,240 hours), Visiting Scholar at UC Berkeley (1,120); 1 first author paper, 2 2nd author papers in peer reviewed journals, a few abstracts,
  8. Shadowing experience and specialties represented: ENT (100 hours but a long time ago), Virtual Shadowing (doing 3 a week), primary care (will start in July, about 15 hours a week). I have worked with infectious disease clinicians and practicing primary care physicians doing clinical research for a long time and have had a lot of direct patient contact.

  12. Anything else not listed you think might be important: I am a non-traditional student, 45+ yrs old, career changer, currently working in a federally qualified health center for the underserved doing a study on vaccine hesitancy. I'm currently taking a couple of prereqs (physics lab and retaking CHEM II during 2021) at local community college. First generation college graduate, disadvantaged status.
