Hi guys would really appreciate feedback regarding my chances at some of these schools. Thank you in advance!
cGPA and sGPA as calculated by AMCAS
- cGPA 3.66 and sGPA 3.76 (Engineering student, if that matters)
MCAT score(s) and breakdown
- 522 (130/130/132/130)
State of residence or country of citizenship (if non-US)
- New York (with significant ties to Illinois and Boston)
Ethnicity and/or race
- Middle Eastern, White
Undergraduate institution or category
- T20
Clinical experience (volunteer and non-volunteer)
- 400 hours ER Tech at a Level 1 Trauma Center
- 50 hours Cardiology volunteer (will be higher by application)
-1000/2000 hours (Gap Year) as Research Associate at Hospital, work split between analyzing clinical outcome research and rest being patient facing research coordinator.
Research experience and productivity
- 2500 hours in three different labs (one current basic science publication (second author) but will have multiple clinical manuscripts submitted within next 2 months so possible publication for an update letter. 2 conference presentations, with more upcoming from current job)
Shadowing experience and specialties represented
-100 hours in multiple disciplines
Non-clinical volunteering
- 80 hours food kitchen for food insecure individuals
- 20 hours Engineering Brigade
Leadership
-400 hours vice president of Student Club
Anything else not listed you think might be important
-LOR from 2 science professors (1 is PI that taught me in a classroom course, other from my major department), 1 from Clinical Volunteer Experience, 1 from advisor from work organization mentioned earlier
-Omega Chi Epsilon Honor Society
I am having a hard time finalizing a list of schools (mainly due unbalanced MCAT/gpa scores), so I have a preliminary long list. So far my preliminary list feels very top heavy (also very long) so any eliminations or additions are appreciated.
