Howdy! Wondering if anyone has any insight for a not-so-typical applicant.
Background: 25 y/o WM, BA with concentration in Biology in 2017 from a small liberal arts honors college, current PA resident (Philly, GO BIRDS!).
GPA: My school used narrative evaluations, so technically I have no GPA?
MCAT: 502 (123 CP/ 126 CARS/ 124 BB/ 129 PS)
LORs: PI, DO cardiologist, 1 science prof, 1 thesis/academic advisor/ genetics prof.
Employment:
I'm applying all DO.
•Specialty of interest: ER, but open minded
•Graduate degrees: no
•Interest in rural health (y/n): n
I'm typically worried about the lack of grades from my undergraduate (although I know of a number of alumni that have been accepted into an MD program) but I feel as though because so many schools are accepting P/F for COVID reasons, perhaps they will be more open minded to my application. It's also in the back of my mind that I might have to re-take the MCAT and re-apply next cycle, so more long-term suggestions would also be helpful.
