Volatility in the Salary of a Plastic Surgeon

I am aware that the salary of plastic surgeons fluctuate greatly, but roughly how much would a Plastic Surgeon expect in his first year post-residency. I am assuming this is a somewhat difficult field to start off with considering the competition? Also, roughly how many Plastic Surgeons are directly employed by hospitals?
