Pain Medicine opportunity Virginia
Exciting opportunity to run a new patient and community health focused pain program. Interventional pain is a component, but they need someone that will understand the need to manage meds, and guide patients to a successful, and healthy pain management program. To start, though not long term, you would need to count pills, do acute urine screens, be willing to refer to psycho-social services, etc. The full gamut. Once the program matures, a PA would handle those front line responsibilities freeing you to focus on treatment. The position would be open to Anesthesiologists, Physiatrists, or any other pain fellowship trained specialty.
The program is part of a large, dominant Orthopedic multispecialty group based in Central Virginia at the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, yet only a few hours drive to the ocean, or Washington, DC. It is also close to Charlottesville home of University of Virginia. It has a core population of 75,000 with a draw area of 250,000. It is the home of six colleges. It is a pleasant family values oriented community.
There would be a base salary in the high 200s or more based on experience, plus benefits, ownership, and bonus.
