Hey everybody, I'm very fortunate to have 4 acceptances to the DO schools listed below and need some help making the decision. I want to eventually match into IM and subspecialize or anesthesiology. I'm a young person with no family ties to any of these places so my decision is almost entirely based on the quality of the schools. I am from the east coast and want to match in VA or the Northeast if that matters.

VCOM - Virginia
Pros
- Strong match list at hospitals I'm interested in applying to residency
- Located in VA
- Cheapest tuition by a lot
- Research opportunities are decent
- Enjoyed my tour a lot.
- Mandatory attendance
- Heightened monitoring status (due to their new LA campus; not sure if this really matters)
- Remote location in Blacksburg
- Letter grading system
Pros
- Research opportunities. They have a one-year master's program that's geared toward academic medicine/research that would be of interest.
- Pass/Fail grading system.
- Matched the most students into anesthesiology out of the 4 schools.
- I toured there and didn't love it.
- I didn't love Long Island.
- All of the lectures are pre-recorded and may not be super up-to-date.
- High cost of living.
Pros
- Decent research opportunities.
- Many affiliated hospitals for rotations.
- No mandatory attendance.
- Letter grading system.
- High cost of living.
- Highest tuition.
Pros
- Strong match list.
- Nice location.
- Pass-fail grading system.
- I've heard poor things about their rotations.
- Also have heard negative things about how their for-profit status influences the school's decision-making.
- Pretty much no opportunities for research.
