Remember the loan repayment program authorized by the National Veterinary Medical Services Act? The government has released some actual details and a timeline:
"The Veterinary Medicine Loan Repayment Program (VMLRP) will pay up to $25,000 each year towards qualified educational loans of eligible veterinarians who agree to serve in a NIFA designated veterinarian shortage situations for a minimum period of three years.
Plans are to allocate 90% of the funds to private practice food animal veterinarians in areas of identified vet shortage. The government will soon be seeking input on which geographic areas are suffering from such a shortage. See:
