URM NS FL average 504

So I just took the Next Step FL 3 and got a 504 (126/123/127/128). I know my CARS on this exam was bad, but I heard that a lot of other people also did badly in CARS on this exam. I just wanted to know with my actual MCAT about a month away how accurate are NS FL scores to the actual AAMC exam. Also, I wanted to know, even though I'm trying to get a 510, what are my chances of getting into mainly DO schools and some MD schools with around a 503 - 508 MCAT and a 3.6 cGPA.

You’re fine for most DO schools with those scores and gpa.

If you get over a 500 don't waste money on DO schools. You will get a MD one with a sensible school list

This might be of interest to you. AAMC will be the most accurate predictors of your scores, but don't be afraid to push your date back if you need to. Better to do it well once!

So I am in the same boat right now. Retaking the exam in August (less than a month away) because I totally bombed the first exam. :/

I ended up pushing my MCAT back to June and I took a practice AAMC exam closer to my June exam and literally got the same score. It wasn't horrible so I'm going to apply this cycle with it. However, I feel like my NS FLs would have been accurate if I took the test back in April. If you're trying to aim higher than what your currently testing at, I'd suggest pushing it back and taking it when you're hitting around the score you want. I thought I'd pull some miracle too and score way above where I was testing but I literally got exactly what my AAMC practice exam said.

Agreed. All you really need is 500+ to gain an acceptance to a Med School as an URM.
