I know this is early! But I wanted to create this post to keep track of who has been accepted so far.

I had my interview on 10/20 and am currently awaiting a response! Best of luck to you all!

How fast did you hear back from UMiami about getting an interview after you sent in your app?

I have my interview this Friday! I was wondering how long the whole interview is? I know they told us we're going to be there from 8:30am-1:30pm. So I was wondering how everything ended being 5 hours long?

Good luck! I hope you get in!

That is awesome! Good luck!

So they organize the day into 1 hour intervals. The order is random however it will go somewhat like this:

9-10am interview, 10-11am facility tour, and 11-12pm campus tour.

You can actually end earlier depending on your time slot. Also in between all of it you are speaking with DPT students. Hope this helps!

I'll be working this Friday's interview, see you guys there, come by and say hi

I just received an interview invite today for November 3 or December 1 (I have to pick).

For those of you who may want to know how long it took -
My application was submitted on 10/4 but transcript was not processed on PTCAS so they did not send to the schools until 10/15 when it was finally processed.
UM emailed me on 10/17 saying they received my application.

6 days later (10/23) they invited me to interview.

Hey everyone! Just a little update on my process in case anyone wanted to know the timeline for my experience.

9/8 - Submitted PTCAS Application
9/13 - Received e-mail that I needed to send in supplemental processing fee
9/19 - Received e-mail that they got everything
10/10 - Received e-mail with interview invitation
11/3 - Interviewed at UM
11/6 - Received e-mail with acceptance

The interview is great! You go on a facility tour, campus tour, and have your interview with one of the faculty members. Very relaxed interview. Loved the visit and the program as a whole! Good luck to everyone :)

Congrats! Did they ask you about a difficult time or why you chose PT? Questions like that? Also, how long were you there for?

Did anyone else get a response after their interview? I interviewed the first time slot of October

Thank you!! Not too much. Talked about PT a little bit, but it was mainly just getting to know you and seeing what type of person you are. It was more of a casual conversation rather than a formal and intense interview. I was there from 8:30am-1pm. Interview itself was only an hour long and goes by super quickly. You get a lot of time to talk to the current students, which is great! Good luck :)

ptalex.n,

We must have been in a lucky interview group - I was at the November 3 interview and also got an acceptance email on November 6! I haven't yet received a mailed letter yet though! Do you think you'll be attending?

Sure! I'm a nontraditional student, so my stats are a little unusual.

Graduated Pitt, class of 2008
BA, Political Science
Undergrad GPA: 3.1
Prerequisite GPA: 4.0 (I returned to school full time in 2015 to get through all of my prereqs)
SAT: 169 v 155 q 4.0 w

I worked in politics for a few years before pursuing other careers. Long stores goes into decision to return to school - but once I was there I found focus and maturity. I work as a technician now at a busy outpatient ortho clinic that sees a lot of different populations.

Thanks for the reply! But Wow very impressive, good for you that you found what you really wanted to do. Good luck with whatever school you decide to go to!

Has anyone heard back from UM after their interview? I did mine on Oct. 27th and I have not heard anything back as yet.

It was fun! It wasn’t a group interview. It was a one on one interview with a faculty member. Honestly, the interview was more conversational based. It started with tell me about yourself then led on to different conversations. We talked about sports I was in, what I learned from my clinical experiences, and even what team I liked in football lol. It’s very relaxed. I think they want to see how strong your interpersonal communication skills are. Every interviewer is different, but every interviewee told me their interview was the same as mine. After the interview we toured their PT Facility then Campus.

Thanks for the information! My interview is tomorrow so I am nervous.

Hi All!

I was at the interview on Friday, December 1st. I would love to hear from everyone when offers are sent out. I loved the school and am anxious to hear back. Good luck to everyone.

Have my interview the first week of February lol so late compared to everyone else! Wonder if that means I'm at the bottom of the barrel... :(

I have my interview on Feb 2nd as well, I honestly didn't expect to hear from them at all since one of my site supervisors submitted my hours verification after the 10/16 deadline.

Hey guys!

Unfortunately, I had to give up my spot at UM and will be attending elsewhere. It was a very hard decision for me to make, but I hope it at least opens a spot for one of you guys!

Does anyone know about how many people have been accepted so for or when they will let everyone know? I had an interview an October and haven't heard anything. Congrats to those that have been accepted and good luck to those still waiting!!

Hi all! I was wondering if anyone has information on the clinical education side of UM's program? I can't find much information online about it, but am interested in if they have sites around the country or opportunities to start a new contract, if there are service opportunities abroad, etc. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

There are 4 8-week clinical rotations at UMDPT; 1 during the fall of year 2, and 3 consecutive rotations after the didactic portion of year 3. You can find the current curriculum here. http://pt.med.miami.edu/Documents/Class_2020_DPT_Cur.pdf There are also various clinical observations scattered within the course curriculum. I think there are service opportunities abroad as well. They are likely available during your holiday breaks.

UMDPT has contracts throughout the US, but availability really depends on the individual sites during the rotation dates. There are opportunities for new contracts, but know in advance, it's not typically a simple process as numerous legal hoops have to be worked through.

Hope that helps.

Congrats to those accepted and attending UMDPT. Welcome to the family!

I have an interview for February 9th! Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!

For anyone that's already interviewed... what was it like and how long did it take until you heard back? I feel like I'm in one of the last interview spots sine it's so late... hoping it doesn't affect my chances of being accepted.

Just received my acceptance letter from a school that was ranked higher on my list than UofM. I will be foregoing my interview, which will hopefully mean a spot opens up for someone still waiting! Good luck! :highfive:
