UCSD current students...

Hey there! I know there is an "advice for MS-1's" on the pre-allo site, but I just wanted to invite any UCSD current students to join the class thread (UCSD Class of 2012) to offer any specific advice/suggestions about next year for the newbie UCSD med students.

I'd love to hear ANY advice you might have on what to buy, what NOT to buy, syllabi info, housing, study center, summer program, research opportunities, good lecturers, bad lecturers, what you found most helpful, advice you may have been given that was appreciated by you, etc.

do not buy the textbooks at first, usually they are best used as reference books you can look at in the library.

there is no overarching advice, except ask students from the year above about each class when it is coming up and (in my opinion) you should take advantage of the tutorial office.
