hey guys,
i was wondering if it was worth going to a weak program (which will have a hard time getting me a competitive fellowship like cards) for a year and then trying to transfer out to a better program?
i know the rule is that u shouldnt rank a program where u wont be happy, but its not that i wouldnt mind practicing there or be unhappy, but id want to go to a program that can get me places. a friend of mine transferred from cleveland clinic to a reputable program in the midwest without changing specialties. i really need to work this year and im not sure if id be able to get paid research anywhere. thats why im wondering if the alternative of working at a weak program for a year and then transferring out can actually happen? and what r the risks associated with something like this? id appreciate any input regarding this..thanks.
