hey there, i am a recent graduate from a medical school in the EU wanting to do my training in ireland starting in july 2017. areas of interest: gastroenterology and anesthesia, but i'll gladly accept other specialties. my questions are:

1. what is the process (application) for eu students? apply to medical council, get verified, then apply to BST/SAT in december?
2. how competitive are the BST/SAT programs? do i have a shot if i don't have publications, honors, etc.? i am especially interested in anesthesia...is it very competitive?
3. about how much is the salary for a bst or sat year 1?

help with any of these would be greatly appreciated :)
