Hey all,
ive recently been given the chance to take 2 and a half years out of my medical degree between year 2 and the clinicals to do a PhD.
I originally planned on just doing an intercalated BSc for one year, but I believe a PhD could be more beneficial?
There are a lot of benefits, i have been told i can study at at an american uni for 3 months, I will get a wage and scholarship. There is one drawback though. I am not 100% the department that is offering me the PhD is the area of medicine i want to go into when i finish. Do you think its wise for me to take this PhD with this in mind? Will it help me if i apply for jobs in america (im a UK citizen at a UK med school)?
Will it be beneficial to my career is what im trying to say basically!
Any help appreciated
