I predict MacGyver will finally find a forum where people will agree with him over this bul8sh9t statement. Every time you post this same idea, I follow you and explain that you should probably listen to us real PA's who might know a thing or two. You are just wrong. There has been no recent trend to give PA's rights in rural areas that they haven't already had. For a damn decade PA's have been writing controlled narcs, and having limited supervision. But that has not changed the system. PA's simply do not have the necessary training or understanding of disease to replace physicians in any capacity. They augment physicians, and they provide a valuable asset. PA's will never be able to be independent practitioners because they themselves aren't stupid enough to lobby for it. You have yet to answer my question MacGyver. Are you a PA student looking for someone to make you feel like you made the right decision to become a PA? Because if that is what you are looking for, then someone, please tell him he has made a good decision so he will stop posting this stupid thread. If you want to practice medicine without the hassle of being supervised and not being the doc, then become a physician.
