Switch to IR from attending EM

Hello.
A lot has changed with the new cat IR programs and such.
Anyone know of folks that have secured spots in IR having been attending a in other fields?

Of course this is an ultra competitive field, just wondering if there are any examples as of yet.

Are you sure you want to give up your attending position and start again as a lowly resident?

This is a very big life decision with huge psychologic and financial consequences.

Having said that, if you like it go for it. But make sure you do your homework well before making any decision.
