I am conducting research for a doctoral dissertation under the supervision and guidance of Dr. Valata Jenkins-Monroe, Ph.D. The research gathers data about the supervision experiences of White (non-Latino) psychological trainees and interns who had a White (non-Latino) clinical supervisor while they were receiving clinical training in correctional settings. Information gathered about these experiences might help improve the training experiences of future psychologists and provide future guidance to supervisors regarding areas where their practice can improve.

Data can be provided from psychological trainees, pre-doctoral interns, post-docs or early career psychologists within 5 years of graduation. Each participant must have had at least one complete semester of graduate-level clinical supervision by a White supervisor in a correctional forensic setting. Data gathered will include demographic information about you and your supervisor, completion of 42 Likert-style scaled items, and 3 brief response questions. This study should take 20 to 60 minutes of your time.

Before agreeing to participate in this study, it is important that you are aware that participation is entirely voluntary, and you may discontinue at any time. Depending on your personal history, you may experience some emotional discomfort reflecting on prior supervisory experiences. This potential discomfort is predicted to be brief and would be no more severe than what you might experience when remembering your experiences as a part of daily life. Any information you provide to this study will be kept confidential and given an arbitrary code number for identification. When the results of the study are published, portions of direct quotes might be used, but no identifying information would accompany the content.
