Some pain doc is requesting this to be done with “stealth needle” at my asc.

Is anyone familiar with what this is? He’s the type of guy that flys everywhere to “learn” the procedure of the month and then requests to do them at my asc after the other ones he’s affiliated with says no to him

It’s an old Texas Tech/racz procedure. I don’t know what a stealth needle is. It is a nothing procedure. Pays like a greater occipital nerve block with fluoro.

Of course the Stealth needle can conveniently be purchased from Epimed, a Racz family company.

Why would this need to be done in an asc? He’s not a shareholder and I don’t even think he’s requesting the patient be sedated

The first time I heard of this was from Dr. Trescot. I've attached an article.
