Acute pulmonary embolism (PE) is a common disease with variable clinical presentation, ranging in severity from no symptoms to circulatory collapse and death (massive PE). While well-known treatment algorithms have been established for both massive PE and normotensive patients with PE, the treatment of submassive PE, defined as normotensive patients with evidence of RV dysfunction, remains controversial. Join us as Dr. Daniella Kadian-Dodov, vascular medicine physician and Assistant Professor of Medicine and Cardiology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, leads a discussion on submassive PE and its treatment.
