USB has a good, solid program. They are currently trying to increase the number of residents from 8 to at least 10 and maybe 12 down the road. There is lots of ER time. Interns do 18 12hrs shifts per month and each year after that does 1 less per month (17 in second year, 16 in 3rd year). Very friendly place. Most attendings insist on being called by first name and a large number of them are graduates from the USB program. Residents get along very well. Only floor rotation is 1 month on peds, because of politics in the peds dept that says you need a month of floors to be in the PICU. There is 1 month of peds ER at Jacobi. The ER was redone a few years ago but is already overcrowded, so there are plans to renovate. I've found that at many program the residents do not get to work in the FastTrack area. At USB you get the opportunity to do so. I hope I have answered any questions.
