Starting Residency on Employment Authorization Document

Hi,

I am an non-US IMG married to a US citizen who will be applying to this year's match. My circumstances dont allow me to apply for GC before start of Nov 2017. And by the time my residency starts in June/ July 2018, I might not have the GC but I'll have an Employment Authorization Document (EAD).
I wanted to know if I could start my residency on EAD while my GC is being processed.
