I’m leaving a PP group and in need for tail coverage. Can’t get nose through my future employer. My current carrier quoting me 28k for tail coverage (doctors company). I was shopping around for stand alone tail and some are quoting me 20-22k. I think it’s a pretty significant saving. Is there any downside of getting stand alone from different company and not the company you’re insured with?

No downside. I had to pay almost $40k because my prior group had a 2/4M policy. The rep said the market for 2/4 was extremely limited though I do feel he screwed me in the end. My prior group purchased the policy without even informing me and took it out of my buy out.
